In 2017 a heritage assessment was produced in advance of a proposed residential residential development on land at Stanneylands Road, Wilmslow. It examined a complex of buildings at Little Stanneylands, located to the south of the site boundary, which currently comprises three buildings, all Grade II Listed - a farmhouse (CHER 1498), a barn (CHER 1485) and Rose Cottage (CHER 14886). All three buildings are depicted on the Pownall Fee Tithe Map for the area, dating to 1841, but also depicted is a fourth building on the north side of the complex. At this time, access into the complex was between farmhouse and the barn onto Stanneylands Road. The Tithe Apportionment records that the Little Stanneylands plot and a number of fields to the north and east were in the ownership of the Earl of Stamford and occupied by either Hesketh Goddard or John Warburton.

Ordnance Survey mapping reveals that the fourth building to the north, which formerly enclosed the courtyard with the other three buildings of the Little Stanneylands group, was demolished during the early twentieth century. The three remaining buildings were converted or redeveloped for private residential use in the mid-late twentieth century.
