Building record 14481 - Hatton Street Methodist Chapel

This map depicts a chapel building set back from the street behind a wall. It is labelled ‘Methodist Chapel (Independent)’ and records that there were seats for 200.

This map is labels the building as a ‘Sunday School’. Possibly associated with the chapel built to the rear in 1873 (see CHER: 5356).

The façade of the current building is adjacent to the pavement and is dated 1934. Bricked up entrances (now windows) are evident at the extreme left and right hand sides. Otherwise the building footprint seems similar to that depicted on the 1886 map (see 1). It is uncertain whether this is a conversion and extension of the original chapel or a complete rebuild. Converted to apartments c.1990s.
