A network of linear cropmarks visible on aerial photographs.
<2> Ordnance Survey, 1871-1882, Ordnance Survey County Series (Epoch 1) 25 inch to 1 mile - Cheshire, SJ7660, 1875 (Maps and Plans). SCH2462.
Most of the cropmarks correspond with field boundaries or treelines depicted on this map.

The Cheshire HLC dates these field systems(see 2) to the late post medieval, probably eighteenth century.
