Full Description

<1> Peak District National Park Archaeology Service, 2003, Blaze Farm Archaeological Field Survey for the Peak District Environmental Quality Mark Scheme, p.2 (Client Report). SCH8567.

‘…Small square sheep fold…surrounded on all sides by field boundary walls. There is no visible entrance to the fold, but presumably if it was a sheepfold the entrance has been blocked up, possibly by the rebuilding of the walls. Of post-medieval date. This feature is not marked on any available map suggesting it went out of use sometime before 1849, the date of the earliest available detailed map of the area [see 2]…’
