Full Description

Spectacular Sandstone cave, the Queens Parlour, located just under the cliff top. Probably excavated for its fine sand prized in the past for scouring cottage floor.

Record CHER334 originally recorded the caves at Rawhead under the name Queens Parlour, Rawhead. Following resarch by the Sandstone Ridge Trust it has been established that the rawhead caves are Bloody Bones Caves (see CHER334/1) and the Queens Parlour caves are at this localtion.

Report of volunteer trial trenching at a this cane ( Queens Parlour) in 2016. Iron spade and a single worked piece of chert found. Evidence of sandworking identified in sand depositis and working marks in the bedrock.
