One of three separate buildings within enclosures on the edge of Mere Heath depicted on an estate map of 1805. In June 2017, a strip, map and record archaeological evaluation was undertaken in advance of a proposed residential development, with the aim of identifying and recording any remains of two of these heath side buildings, however, no remains were encountered and it is likely that the buildings were demolished and foundations removed by later ploughing activity. The Tithe Map for this area of 1840 shows it had been enclosed, converting the heath into rectangular fields associated with Fountain Lane Farm, a layout still present today. The map suggests that the buildings which were present on the 1805 map had already been demolished by this date.
