This map depicts a formal garden with parkland and a lake.

Birtles Old Hall's parkland has lakes with ornamental bridges. In one lake, there is an island planted with rhododendrons. Birtles Old Hall has a small formal garden with clipped beech and yew hedges. There is also a cricket ground, with an ornamental pavilion and a conservatory. Eighteenth century.
