<1> Chester Archaeology, 1993, A534 Wheelock Bypass: Desk-Based Assessment, August 1993 (Client Report). SCH4302.

Archaeological assessment undertaken in 1993 in advance of the A534 Wheelock Bypass identified a block of medieval ridge and furrow earthworks on air photographs dating to 1973 and 1992, to the east of Sandbach Mill. A field visit demonstrated these earthworks to be still upstanding.

The block of ridge and furrow is still extant as earthworks on air photographs dating to 2010.
