An archaeological desk-based assessment undertaken in 1993 in advance of the Warrington Southern Expressway notes the former existence of 'Frog Hall' and the small possibility that some remains of this building and its environs may yet survive.
A deed of 1773 records the presence of a farm building, at SJ 6009 8853, known as 'Frog Hall' on what is now the location of the railway at the junction of Froghall Lane and Kendrick Street, Warrington (see 2). The building was purchased and demolished by the Cheshire Lines Council in 1865 in advance of railway construction (see 3). 'Frog Hall' is not known to have origins much earlier than 1772 when it is shown on a town plan of Warrington (see 4). The name 'Frog Hall Field' appears at the location of 'Frog Hall' in the Tithe Award for the Borough of Warrington dating to 1839.
