Former brick yard, kiln and associated quarry pits of post medieval date and disused by 1910. A 'brick yard with rough and pits' is recorded on the Tithe map of 1844 and a kiln is recorded on the OS 1:2,500 mapping of 1874-81. 'Brickfield Cottage' is still extant and situated within the area of the former brick yard.

The same site was originally identified as a possible Deserted Medieval Village (CHER89) but is now thought to be associated with the post medieval brickworks.
