<1> English Heritage, 2005, List of Buildings of Special Architectural or Historic Interest, 56964 (Digital Archive). SCH4666.
Farmhouse, circa 1870 built as part of the Peckforton Estate. Red brick in English Garden Wall Bond, with tile roof. 2 storeys, 3 bays. A 3-bay return (south-east) completes an "L" shaped plan. Half glazed and boarded door with studs and false strap hinges. This is fronted by a gabled brick porch with cast-iron lattice casements to the sides and timber infilling to the gable. 2-to-4-light cast-iron hexagonal lozenge casement windows with segmental arches. The centre bay is projecting and has a gable with St.Andrew's Cross bracing and finial. The chimneys have been altered but one still retains the Tollemache style of individual flues.
<2> English Heritage, 2005, List of Buildings of Special Architectural or Historic Interest, 56965 (Digital Archive). SCH4666.
Multi-purpose farm building, circa 1870. Red brick with tiled roof. 2 storeys, 3 & 4 bays built to an "L" shaped plan. Metal hopper light windows to ground floor, cast-iron lattice casement windows in timbered-gable half dormers at first floor level. Full length and half-heck doors hung on strap hinges with stone hinge and latch blocks. Round pitch holes with stone sills.
<3> Ordnance Survey, 1871-1882, Ordnance Survey County Series (Epoch 1) 25 inch to 1 mile - Cheshire, SJ6053, 1875 (Maps and Plans). SCH2462.
This map, which is broadly contemporaneous with the farm buildings, depicts a building with pens attached to the immediate south of the farmhouse. The pens suggest that this is a pig sty. There is a hand pump adjacent to the farmhouse.
<4> Ordnance Survey, 1896-1898, Ordnance Survey First Revision County Series (Epoch 2) 25 inch to 1 mile - Cheshire, SJ6053, 1898 (Maps and Plans). SCH3848.
A long barn like structure has been constructed to the east of the combination farm building and two wings have been attached to the pig sty.
<5> Bluesky International Ltd, 2010, 2010 Bluesky Survey (Aerial Photograph). SCH5444.
Aerial images indicate that the complex is largely intact.
