Full Description
Archaeological investigations at Gorse Stacks in 2002 identified evidence of a second possible timber structure some distance to the northwest of an earlier discovery. The timber building was recorded to the rear of the George Street Centre.

The evidence comprised a single linear feature measuring 1.70m in length [143] cut into the natural clay on a north-south alignment. It was interpreted as a possible beam slot for a timber structure. A single sherd of Roman pottery was recovered from the fill of the feature.
