Full Description
Archaeological investigations at Frodsham Street in 1966 included the excavation of seven trenches to the rear of the street frontage. Although the results of the investigation have never been published in full the archive records the discovery of a number of medieval and post medieval features.

Trench 1/3 excavated within the plot of No 13 Frodsham Street identified a number of post medieval features including 17th century fills of an earlier feature possibly associated with the Roman defences. In addition a number of pits and ditches were suggested in the upper layers of the trench but were not recorded.
