Full Description
Archaeological investigations at Frodsham Street in 1966 included the excavation of seven trenches to the rear of the street frontage. Although the results of the investigation have never been published in full the archive records the discovery of a number of medieval and post medieval features.

Trench 4, excavated within the plot of No 11 Frodsham Street encountered a sandstone floor of possible medieval date containing a small quantity of medieval pottery from the construction layer below it.
Also in trench 4 an east-west aligned sandstone masonry wall was recorded running the length of the entire trench and consisted of two courses of sandstone blocks with a sandstone foundation.
