Summary

A Congregational Chapel, Upton, Chester. The Chapel opened in 1860 and closed in 1900. The Chapel is not present on first or second edition Ordnance Survey Mapping of 1874 and 1899 respectively. The site is shown on the later third edition Ordnance Survey Mapping of 1911. It appears that between 1940 and 1970 the chapel was demolished and subsequently a new chapel and attached hall has been built which is a place of worship for the United Reformed Church.

Full Description

A Congregational Chapel, Upton, Chester. The Chapel opened in 1860 and closed in 1900 (1).

The Chapel is not present on first or second edition OS Mapping of 1874 (2) and 1899 (3) respectively. The site is shown on the later third edition OS Mapping of 1911 (4).

It appears that between 1940 (5) and 1970 (6) the chapel was demolished and subsequently a new chapel and attached hall has been built which is a place of worship for the United Reformed Church (7).
