Summary

A pottery works is recorded on the Ordnance Survey 2nd Edition map to the north of Oak Road. The pottery work comprised a series of long narrow ranges running parallel with Oak Road and St Marks Road with a series of small structures to the rear. A short railway siding runs across the north west corner of the site. The pottery works appears to have been short-lived, however, with many of the structures demolished by the 3rd Edition Ordnance Survey map (1910-1915) and only the narrow ranges remaining. By the 1960s the site had been entirely replaced with modern housing.
