Summary

Medieval papal seal recovered from garden at Newton Rise in 1946. The papal seal or bull was approximately 3.80cm in diameter and bore the mark of Pope Innocent IV (1243-1254). Marked INNO/CENTIVS/ P P IIII on the obverse and SPASPE on the reverse. Busts of the saints on the reverse were in semi profile.

Full Description

Medieval papal seal recovered from garden at Newton Rise in 1946. The papal seal or bull was approximately 3.80cm in diameter and bore the mark of Pope Innocent IV (1243-1254). Marked INNO/CENTIVS/ P P IIII on the obverse and SPASPE on the reverse. Busts of the saints on the reverse were in semi profile. (1)
