Full Description
Aerial photographs of Abbots Mead have recorded areas of historic ridge and furrow cut by the Shropshire Union Canal, built in the late 18th century. Shown in greatest detail on the RAF 1940s aerial photographs, they broadly follow an east west alignment across the site but with a small area of north south aligned ridge and furrow cut by the Chester to Connah’s Quay line installed at the close of the 19th century.
