Summary
A green lane serving the surrounding medieval and early post medieval field system. It has been suggested that this was originally part of the Roman road from Chester which ran along the Wirral peninsula.

Roman road - Chester to Wirral. In Ledsham Village the old lane at SJ 357 746, now an overgrown hollow way, may form part of the alignment of the Roman road.

The green lane is depicted on this map and is probably at least contemporary with the surrounding field system.
