Full Description
Archaeological investigations carried out over a period of years between 1994 and 2000 in the garden of 67 Eaton Road identified evidence of early 17th century industrial activity. (1)
The evidence consisted of a possible kiln or hearth feature from trench 3 of the excavations with quantities of pottery wasters from the area. (1)
The excavations also encountered finds suggestive of glass working in the area comprising a crucible and some molten glass of an early 17th century date. Accumulation soils from trench 1 contained pottery and glazed glass of an early 17th century date while further residual sherds were recovered from disturbed deposits in trench 6 (1)
