Full Description
Archaeological investigations in the Crook Street area between 1963 and 1965 identified encountered a brick line feature cutting the earlier archaeology. The excavations were carried out under emergency salvage conditions over a large area and in consequence the focus was always on the potential Roman deposits. However, site notes from the excavations record a brick lined feature from trench 8 of the excavations beneath the present Gateway Theatre. (1)
