Full Description
This monument refers to a demolished section of the medieval city wall that once protected the southern side of Chester Castle, along the River Dee. This section of the former city wall was removed, likely at some time in the eighteenth century when the Shipgate was also removed (CHER 12000/37). The route of this section of the medieval wall circuit is now the site of the County Hall (1, 7).
