Full Description
During the excavation of two small trial trenches in the north-east corner of Grosvenor park in 1991, a cultivation horizon dating from the medieval through to the post medieval period was identified. Medieval finds demonstrate that there was some activity in the area at that time, and by the early seventeenth century the area was part of a field known as the Headlands (1, 2).
