Full Description
An archaeological watching brief undertaken during ground disturbance in relation to the construction of an electricity sub-station at the north-east edge of Grosvenor Park in 2002 revealed the remains of two parallel brick and rubble walls, and one parallel row of rubble, which seemed to be associated with Victorian era debris. The walls were roughly straight, one being at least 7m long, and the other 9.4m long, while the rubble feature was 12m long. They were interpreted as wall footings for garden walls as there appear to have been no subdivisions for rooms. These features cut into a sandstone drain (CHER 11044) (1).
