Full Description
A substantial U shaped building, possibly a large domestic house with extensive gardens to the rear is recorded on de Levaux’s map of 1745 adjacent to the Crane Bank wharf. (1) It appears that the building was subsequently converted into cottage dwellings by the end of the 19th century with the gardens later replaced with terraced housing. Although the cottages survived until the mid 20th century they have since been demolished. (2)
