Full Description
No 5 Canal Street is a house and adjoining warehouse, built between 1830 and 1870 probably for the Shropshire Union Canal Company. It is of English garden wall bond brown brick and Flemish bond red brick with a grey slate roof. It is two storeys high with a double fronted wing built around 1870 with an older parallel rear wing. (1) It is first recorded on Wood’s map of Chester in 1833. (2)
