Full Description
Excavations in 1982 at Chester Castle were part of a sequence of investigations preparing the Flag Tower for public view, following an extensive survey in 1979 - 1980 (1). One piece of residual Samian ware was recovered from an pit containing an assemblage of eighteenth century bottles and clay tobacco pipe fragments (CHER 10875/5) (1).
