Full Description
A number of disarticulated human remains were encountered near the George and Dragon public house in 1961 believed to have come from the nearby St Thomas’ Chapel (CHER 10854). The chapel is medieval in origin but was ruinous by the 16th century and demolished during the civil war. The discovery was made during the construction of a new road between Liverpool Road and Parkgate Road, the site was not investigated archaeologically, however. (1)
