Archaeological investigations at George Street in 2002 identified a series a deposits below the 17th century evidence containing small quantities of medieval to 16th century material.
The evidence consisted of a soil accumulation in area A of the excavations at a depth of between 0.9m to 1.3m below present ground level. (1)
