Full Description
A building survey was carried out on the site of a former smithy in 2001 prior to its redevelopment. The building appears to be of an early 19th century date consisting of a brick built rectangular open warehouse with a two stage slate roof and a sandstone mooring to the rear adjacent to No 20 George Street. (1)
The front elevation has been altered since it went out of use as a smithy in the first half of the 20th century. Few internal features from the smithy survive except rings to tether horses. (1)
