Description
A rapid historic building assessment, including a photographic survey, carried out in November 2001 on the site of a former smithy on George St., to inform proposal's for changing the current building's use. The building appeared to be of early nineteenth century date and appears on OS mapping from 1875. Some features were thought to have been unaltered since the building went out of use as a smith in the early twentieth century, but the front elevation has been altered. A more detailed survey with access to the interior was recommended.
