Summary

Archaeological investigations at George Street in 2006 recorded small quantities of medieval finds across the site from disturbed deposits. The assemblage comprised 13th-14th century pottery, medieval floor tiles and several scraps of leather and metal offcuts.

Full Description

Archaeological investigations at George Street in 2006 recorded small quantities of medieval finds across the site. Pottery fabrics included 13th-14th century green glazed wares from test pit 1 and several fragments of medieval body sherds from test pits 3 and 4. A single fragment of medieval floor tile was also recovered from test pit 1. No features were encountered associated with these finds. (1)
