Full Description
An inn, labelled the Bull's Head Inn, appears on the 1871-3 town plan of the city on Northgate St. to the north of the Abbey Gate (1). Documentary references record that there was a 'noisome' public house in the Abbey Gate (CHER 10655) in the late seventeenth century, and it might be that these two records are referring to the same place.
