Full Description
Pareas Hall, on the site presently occupied by 57-71 Lower Bridge Street was once held by Richard the Engineer in the medieval period. It was said to be stone built with a high tower.
In the late 13th century the hall was said to include a large stone hall and barn extending as far south as Duke Street while to the north it has been suggested that St Olave’s church may have served as a chapel for the hall. (1)
