Full Description
No 49 Lower Bridge Street, now part of Hotel Romano, consists of a four storey town house. It was not surveyed in detail as part of the Chester Rows Research Project.
The house is probably mid 18th century with some modern alterations, it is built of brown brick in English bond with a hipped grey slate roof. There is a half basement accessed via a set of nine steps down from the street frontage. The facade of the ground floor consists of painted brick with a door to the south and single 8 pane sash window to the north. The upper floors each contain a single central sash window. (3)
