Full Description
Recent archaeological investigations to the south of Chester Cathedral recorded a series of Roman to post medieval horizons, to the south of the Cathedral adjacent to St Werburgh St. (2). Some late Saxon material was recovered, but all derived from either post medieval burial fills or from other later disturbed deposits. A total of three fragments of Chester ware was recovered from Trench 3, possibly from the same vessel (2).
