Full Description
No 19 Eastgate Street Row is a timber framed modern town house, currently in use as a Row level shop, first floor offices and second floor flat. It was built in 1861 in the Vernacular Revival style by T.A. Richardson for Dutton and Miller, grocers. The main building materials consisted of timber framing with plaster panels to the front and English garden wall bond brown brickwork to the rear and a grey slate roof.
The Row walkway is 2.05m wide and the stallboards a further 2.05m. the upper floors are supported by painted stone end piers and iron Row front railings. The Row level shop front is modern with poor quality timber framing and studwork in the upper storeys with a jettied section on the first and second floors. (1)
