Full Description
No 22 Bridge Street Row consists of a three storey timber framed structure of a probable 17th century date with a 19th century facade.
The Row level building consists of a modern shop frontage with two rooms, the front room is the shop space and contains an 18th-19th century doorway and 19th century fireplace, the back room is a workroom. The upper two floors appear to be accessed via an entrance on Goss Street and consist of primarily 18th-19th century features with the remnants of a 16th-17th century fireplace on the first floor. The shop at Row level has a timber post exposed in the west wall and a panelled window embrasure. The structure of the third and fourth storeys are concealed by modern surfaces; there is a simple panelled fire-surround in the front room of the fourth storey.
The Row walkway consists of two Tuscan pillars supporting the upper storeys with an iron railing at the front. (1)
