Please read our guidance about the use of Cheshire Historic Environment Record data.
Summary
Archaeological investigations to the rear of Foregate Street in 1985 consisted of a rapidly conducted watching brief on construction works, unfortunately however the site has never been published at details of the site remain in note form only. Although the work primarily identified evidence of Roman occupation in the area, the presence of medieval or later pits are suggested.
