Archaeological investigations at Hunter Street between 1981 and 1983 identified evidence of medieval stone robbing of a former Roman granary (CHER 8185). The evidence consisted of several robber trenches dating to the early medieval period, with all remaining traces of the Roman building being completely eradicated by the 13th century. (1)
