Description

Small-scale excavations in the area to the south of the King's Buildings, at the western end of Hunter's St., which established that a Roman building previously reported was a granary dating to c150 AD. The building appears to have survived intact into the medieval period, when it was stripped of re-usable materials. From then until the nineteenth century, this area was open ground (1).
