Full Description
Evidence of a back filled cellar was recorded during archaeological investigations at 47-57 Eastgate Street in 2006. The investigations consisted of a single trench excavated to the rear of the property.
The evidence consisted of a cellar constructed of brick wall of English Garden wall bond and a brick floor of stretcher course brick. It was believed the cellar related to the 19th century redevelopment of the property and was back filled some-time in the 20th century. (1)
