Summary

Archaeological investigations on the site of the former Bowling Green in 1995 identified evidence of medieval activity consisting of a linear feature. Although no dating evidence was recovered from the fill of the ditch it is possible it represented a boundary ditch in the late medieval period.

Full Description

Archaeological investigations on the site of the former Bowling Green in 1995 identified evidence of medieval activity in trench 2 of the excavations consisting of a linear feature on an north south alignment [context 208]. Although no dating evidence was recovered from the fill of the ditch it is possible it represented a boundary ditch in the late medieval period.(1)
