Full Description
Archaeological investigations carried out on Commonhall Street in 1993 identified medieval structural activity relating to properties on Bridge Street as well as Pierpoint Lane, believed to have come into use some time in the 13th century.
Evidence of stone robbing in the medieval period of material from the Roman period (CHER 8440) was also encountered during the investigations although part of at least one wall was reused in situ for the rear wall of the Bridge Street cellar (CHER 10192). (1)
