Full Description
A fourteenth century crypt was recorded at Bridge Street east during excavations for the new offices of the Chester Chronicle in 1901. The crypt was discovered during initial excavations at the site, revealing portions of the structure with a 14th century doorway. Sadly it was not possible to retain it. Several encaustic ecclesiastical tiles were also recovered from the site. (1)
