Full Description

During the 1992 excavations at 32 – 36 Foregate St., a distinct soil layer containing Saxon period pottery (Chester ware), was found overlying Roman material (1). Fourteen sherds were found, which is a relatively large amount of such material. No other information on the nature of this find is available.
