Discovery of a fumed grey cooking pot or urn of a late first century or early second century date from the site of the former Masonic Hall. The excavations were carried out by Prof Newstead who also encountered evidence of at least one Roman barrack block however it is uncertain how this vessel relates to the structural evidence. (1)
