Full Description
A number of Roman vessels, including Samian ware with potter’s stamps were found at the junction of Newgate St. and Souter’s Lane in November 1937 during excavations for a sewer (1). The potter’s stamps included ‘PECVLIAR.F’ on a Form 2& vessel (Domitian – Antonine), and ‘DAGOMARVS’ on a Form 18 (late first century) (1). No other information on the nature of this find is available.
