Summary

Traces of Roman activity in the form of building material and rubble were recorded during archaeological investigations at Hunter Street in 2002 to the west of the possible Roman store buildings, however, the extent of these materials was not fully explored.

Full Description

Archaeological investigations at Hunter Street in 2002 recorded traces of Roman evidence at the base of two trenches (test pit 14 & 15) comprising a deposit of rubble and debris of a probable Roman date. Little can be understood from this deposit, however, based on the limited scope of the evaluation. (1)
