Full Description

Archaeological investigations at the Dark Row, Chester’s fully enclosed Eastgate Street Row, recorded traces of late Roman or early Saxon activity comprising a wall of dressed stone [Feature 80] with a rubble core on an east-west alignment with a rubble foundation of irregular sandstone blocks [Feature 97]. Again dating evidence was limited from this layer, however it clearly post dated the earlier phase of deposition (CHER 8467) (1)
